The oil comes from a pressing of the outer parts of the zest of the citrus fruit of the bergamot tree. The oil first appeared in Bergamo, a city in Italy «. The oil is now also extracted in Africa and Asia «. The color is light to dark green. It has a spicy citrus scent with bite and is reminiscent of Eau de cologne. The botanical name is Citrus aurantium var. Bergamia.

* Please note: when using citrus peel oil in warm water, the heat enhances the effect of the oil. This can lead to redness and irritation. Stick to the advice given. Rather start with lower doses and build up if necessary.
Irritation can also occur with sensitive or newly depilated skin – then dilute well or avoid.
This oil is phototoxic: the treated skin for a few hours after application do not expose the skin to sun and UV light.
Prefer to store the oil in the refrigerator after opening and do not purchase more than you can use up within a year.
