How do I use this self-test

Using this test is very simple; you blow your nose into a handkerchief several times before you start. Discard the handkerchief and wash and dry your hands thoroughly before starting the test.

Read the instructions on the tube sealer carefully. Open the pouch and have the cassette ready. The package contains a tube with liquid, a tube holder, a cotton swab and a test cassette.

1. Blow nose and wash hands with soap. Dry hands.

2. Place the test tube vertically in the designated area in the inner flap of the case. Add the buffer liquid to the test tube.

3. Remove the Romed test cassette from the foil packaging. Place the test cassette on a horizontal surface.

4. Remove the cotton swab from its packaging.

5. Take the nasal swab with the cotton swab: Insert the cotton swab into both nostrils up to 2.5 cm from the outer edge of the nostril. Roll the swab firmly along the mucous membrane in the nostril 5 times, so that both mucus and cells are collected.

6. Place the tip of the swab in the test tube all the way down into the buffer solution and swirl thoroughly 5 times and move it up and down for 20 seconds. Remove the swab from the tube while squeezing the test tube to wring out the swab. Put the cap on the test tube.

7. Put 3 drops of the buffer liquid with the nasal mucus in the drip hole of the test cassette (at S).

8. Wait 15 minutes before reading the test result. Read the test result between 15 and 20 minutes. A test result that appears after 20 minutes is no longer valid.
