The 10R, also known as the “butter blade”, can be used in aesthetic procedures such as “dermaplaning”, which helps to “overspray” the upper layers of the skin through of a method of controlled surgical scraping in which the epidermis is exfoliated. Shorter and more rounded than the 14 it is ideal for getting into smaller, more restricted areas of the face and the rounded (round nose) tip prevents accidental snagging or scratching, providing a more effective and consistent finish.

Dermaplaning can be performed on small areas of skin or on the entire face and can be used alone or in combination with other procedures such as a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or fluorescent pulsed light (FPL). Dermaplaning, when performed prior to other treatments, can remove the peach fuzz that can trap excess dirt and oil. The knives fit on handles 3, 3L, 3 with scales, 5B, 7, 9 and B3.
